Top 100 Girls and Boys Names in the UK for 2023

Sometimes things are popular for a reason. Taylor Swift. Starbucks. That account on Instagram that rates dogs. Some call it basic. We say, so what!

Sometimes things are popular for a reason. Taylor Swift. Starbucks. That account on Instagram that rates dogs. Some call it basic. We say, so what! If millions of people love a thing, surely there’s a reason for it. We think the same logic applies to the most popular baby names in the UK.

There were a few surprises this year in the baby name rankings. Noah and Olivia were the most popular names in England and Wales, with Noah taking over from Oliver. Olivia is still reigning strong for the sixth year running. There are a few newcomers in this year’s top 100, with Lara, Beatrice and Sara for girls and Blake, Brody, Kai, Rupert, Tobias and Nathan for boys. It’s the first time that Rupert and Brody have ever been in the top 100.

Whether you love to follow the latest trends or you’re looking to steer clear, here are the top 100 baby names in the UK for 2023.
